1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy is provided by Space2Code, a software company based in Surat, Gujarat, India. It applies to the Space2Code website (space2code.com), the PDF Scanner app on iOS and Android, and any other products or services that link to this policy. Each app may also have its own product-specific privacy policy, which applies in addition to this one.

When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", it means Space2Code. When it says "you" or "your", it means the person using our website or apps.

2. Information we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum and only gather what we need to provide and improve our services. Depending on how you use them, this may include:

• Contact details you give us: If you fill in a contact or newsletter form, or email us, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
• Documents you open in PDF Scanner: The files, scans and photos you work with stay on your device. We do not upload, read or store the contents of your documents on our servers.
• Basic usage & device data: Like most websites and apps, we may collect aggregate, anonymised information such as app version, device type, general region and which features are used, to fix bugs and improve the experience.
• Support correspondence: If you contact support, we keep a record of the conversation so we can help you and improve our answers.

3. How PDF Scanner handles your documents

PDF Scanner is designed to be private by default. Scanning, viewing, editing, converting, merging, splitting, compressing and password-protecting all happen on your device.

We do not send your documents to us, sell them, or use them to train models. When the app needs to open or save a file, it does so through your device's own storage. If a specific feature ever requires processing in the cloud, we will make that clear before you use it.

4. Device permissions

PDF Scanner asks for permissions only when a feature needs them, and you can change your mind at any time in your device settings:

• Camera: Used only to scan paper documents into PDFs. The camera is never used in the background.
• Photos & files: Used to import images or PDFs you choose and to save your finished files.
• Notifications: Optional — used only if you opt in, for example to confirm a long task has finished.

5. How we use your information

We use the limited information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain and improve our website and apps.
• Respond to your questions, support requests and feedback.
• Send you updates or newsletters you have asked to receive (you can unsubscribe any time).
• Diagnose problems, prevent abuse and keep our services secure.
• Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

6. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only to the extent needed. These include:

• Form & email handling: Web3Forms processes submissions from our contact and newsletter forms so messages reach our inbox.
• Hosting: Our website is hosted on Hostinger, which stores the site files needed to serve pages to you.
• App stores: Apple App Store and Google Play handle app distribution and any store analytics under their own privacy policies.
• Legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or Space2Code.

7. How long we keep data

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described here — for example, to answer your enquiry or to keep you subscribed to a newsletter — and then delete or anonymise it. Documents processed in PDF Scanner stay on your device and are under your control; deleting them from your device removes them.

8. How we protect your information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but keeping most data on your device by design significantly reduces risk.

9. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights — including deleting data associated with your contact requests or newsletter subscription — email us at contact@space2code.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

11. International users

Space2Code operates from India. If you access our services from outside India, please be aware that your information may be processed in India and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own. By using our services, you consent to this processing.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of the page and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
